Test booking forms beyond the happy path

A booking form often looks fine when the chosen slot is free and the connection is stable. Problems appear when two people select the last slot or someone presses Submit twice after a slow response. A few deliberate tests can prevent duplicate appointments and support calls.
Run five scenarios
- Choose the last available slot on two devices at once.
- Slow or interrupt the connection at confirmation.
- Enter an incomplete phone number and invalid email.
- Press the submit button twice quickly.
- Refresh after success and confirm the appointment state.
For each case, the result should be unambiguous: was the booking created? If a slot filled up, offer alternatives. If the network outcome is uncertain, do not push the customer to submit blindly again.
Write messages for people
“Error 500” is not a next step. Explain what happened and how to proceed without hiding a booking that may already exist. The confirmation should repeat service, time, place, and a support route. These tests complement a short booking flow.
Repeat after changes
Run the same checklist after changing services, capacity, sign-in, or payment. A small repeatable check is better than testing only after a complaint.
